The Church of God International Executive Committee and World Missions leadership is calling for all churches to have special prayer this Sunday, February 6 for Egypt.
“Egypt is in turmoil and facing the potential of destructive unrest,” stated Douglas LeRoy, general director of World Mission. “We are asking all churches in our denomination to set aside time for prayer to cover our 75 churches, 5,000 members, and Egypt the country in your prayers. The Church of God has been in Egypt since 1946. We also maintain a training facility, part of a previous YWEA (Youth World Evangelism Action) project. This is not a time to withdraw in fear, but a time to proclaim the hope of Christ.”…full article here
“The crisis in Egypt is widening with potential impact on world peace and economical stability. Two months ago, after I gave two TV interviews that were broadcasted across the Middle East and North Africa, my observation was “the situation in the Middle East is deteriorating by the hour.” I did not expect, however, that the situation will take such an unprecedented and dangerous turn as we have been watching during the last week.
